Brief Description

The obverse (front) of the coin features a portrait of Franklin D. Roosevelt, 32nd President of the United States, facing left. The word "LIBERTY" is inscribed above his head to the left, and "IN GOD WE TRUST" is below his chin. The year "1993" is visible to the right of his neck, along with a mint mark 'P' indicating it was minted in Philadelphia.

Historical Significance

The Roosevelt Dime was first issued in 1946, shortly after President Franklin D. Roosevelt's death, to honor his efforts in combating polio through the March of Dimes. It replaced the Mercury Dime. Dimes from 1965 onwards are made of a copper-nickel clad composition rather than silver, due to rising silver prices.

The 1993 Roosevelt dime, especially circulated ones, is typically worth its face value (10 cents). Uncirculated examples might fetch a small premium, perhaps 25 cents to a dollar, depending on their grade. There are no known rare varieties for this year.
