Brief Description

The obverse of the coin features the head of Liberty, facing left, wearing a radiate crown. The reverse depicts an eagle perched on a mountain, holding an olive branch, with rays of sun emanating from behind it.

Historical Significance

The Peace Dollar was minted to commemorate the end of World War I. It was the last circulating silver dollar minted in the United States and was produced from 1921 to 1928, and again in 1934 and 1935. The 1921 issue is particularly notable as it was the first year of issue and has a high relief design.

Estimated Value

$200 - $450 (for 1921 issue in good condition, as per handwritten note in image)

Care Instructions

Handle the coin by its edges to avoid transferring oils from your skin. Store in a cool, dry place in an inert holder (e.g., Mylar flip, archival-quality coin slab) to prevent environmental damage and scratches. Avoid cleaning the coin, as this can severely decrease its numismatic value.
