Brief Description

A silver-colored coin featuring a large crown above the numeral '25' with the word 'CENT' below. The date '1964' is split on either side of the crown and numeral. Small mint marks (fish and caduceus) flank the word CENT.

Historical Significance

This coin was part of the standard circulation currency of the Netherlands during the reign of Queen Juliana. These coins were replaced by the Euro in 2002. Use of pure nickel for this denomination began in 1948.
