Obverse features the head of George Washington facing left with 'LIBERTY' above, 'IN GOD WE TRUST' at left, and year at bottom. Small 'S' mint mark is located to the right.

Historical Significance

Introduced in 1932 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth. The design by John Flanagan replaced the Standing Liberty quarter and remains the standard profile for US quarters.
