Historical Significance

The Roosevelt Dime was first issued in 1946, shortly after President Roosevelt's death, to honor his efforts in fighting polio as well as his leadership during World War II and the Great Depression. Since 1965, its composition changed from 90% silver to copper-nickel clad due to rising silver prices.
