Brief Description

The obverse features a portrait of George Washington facing right, originally composed and sculpted by Laura Gardin Fraser. Overlaid is 'LIBERTY', 'IN GOD WE TRUST', the year '2023', and the mint mark 'P' indicating it was produced at the Philadelphia Mint.

Historical Significance

This coin is part of the American Women Quarters Program, a four-year initiative (2022-2025) by the U.S. Mint to celebrate the accomplishments and contributions made by women to the development and history of the United States.
