Brief Description

The reverse features a large numeral '3' crowned, dividing the date '19 18', all enclosed within an oak wreath. The obverse (not shown) would feature the portrait of King George V.

Historical Significance

Issued during the final year of World War I under the reign of King George V. These small silver coins, often called 'Joey's,' were part of the pre-decimal sterling system and were the last generation of British silver coins to be minted in .925 sterling silver before the debasement to .500 silver in 1920.
