Liberty Head Nickel (V-Nickel)
Country of Origin: United States of America
Year of Issue: 1884
Denomination: 5 Cents (Nickel)
Composition: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel

Brief Description
Obverse features the head of Lady Liberty facing left, surrounded by stars and the date 1884. This specific specimen appears heavily worn and environmental-damaged with dark oxidation.
Historical Significance
Designed by Charles E. Barber, this was the second variety of the five-cent nickel piece. Following the 1883 'No Cents' controversy where people gold-plated nickels to pass them off as five-dollar gold pieces, the word 'CENTS' was added to the reverse.
Estimated Value
$1.00 - $10.00 USD (Based on its heavily corroded and damaged condition; better preserved 1884 nickels are significantly more valuable).
Care Instructions
Do not clean the coin as this can permanently damage the surface and reduce its numismatic value. Store in a PVC-free plastic holder or an archival-quality flip to prevent further atmospheric corrosion.
