Brief Description

Historical Significance

This coin belongs to the Fifth Republic era. The 'Sower' design by Oscar Roty originally appeared on coins at the end of the 19th century and was reintroduced for the 'new franc' in 1960 to symbolize the French agricultural republic and economic renewal.
