Brief Description

A gold-colored circular coin. The reverse shows the number 10 on a square background of horizontal lines, with the words 'Agorot' in Hebrew, Arabic, and English. The obverse (not pictured) typically features a replica of a coin from the year 4 of the War of Jews against Rome, depicting a seven-branched candelabrum (Menorah) and the State Emblem.

Historical Significance

Introduced in 1985 as part of the 'New Shekel' currency reform intended to curb hyperinflation in Israel. The design of the obverse is a historical link to ancient Judean coinage from the First Jewish-Roman War (66–73 CE).
