Historical Significance

The Washington Quarter was first minted in 1932 to commemorate the 200th anniversary of George Washington's birth. Originally struck in 90% silver, its composition changed to the copper-nickel clad in 1965 due to rising silver prices. It is one of the most common and recognizable coins in U.S. circulation.

For common dates from 1965 onwards in circulated condition, the estimated value is typically face value, 25 cents. Uncirculated examples or those with rare errors could be worth more, but this specimen appears circulated.
