Susan B. Anthony Dollar
Country of Origin: United States of America
Year of Issue: 1979
Denomination: One Dollar ($1)
Composition: 75% copper, 25% nickel cladding over a pure copper core

Brief Description
The obverse features a profile portrait of Susan B. Anthony, a leader of the women's suffrage movement, surrounded by 13 stars. It has a distinctive eleven-sided border within the circular edge.
Historical Significance
This was the first circulating U.S. coin to feature a real woman (rather than an allegorical figure). It was introduced to replace the large Eisenhower dollar but was unpopular with the public because it was easily confused with the quarter due to its similar size and color.
Estimated Value
$1.00 - $2.00 (Circulated examples are usually only worth face value; rare minting varieties like the 'Wide Rim' or high-grade proofs can be worth more).
Care Instructions
Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid cleaning or polishing the coin, as chemical abrasives can permanently damage the surface and reduce any potential numismatic value. Handle by the edges to avoid leaving fingerprints.
