Brief Description

The reverse features a large '10' over the word 'CENT', topped with a royal crown. The year is split on either side of the number 10. The obverse features the portrait of Queen Juliana.

Historical Significance

Commonly known as a 'Dubbeltje', this coin was part of the currency series circulating during the reign of Queen Juliana after the Netherlands shifted from silver to nickel coinage in 1948. It remained in use until the replacement of the Guilder by the Euro in 2002.
