Brief Description

Historical Significance

This was the first polymer banknote released by the Bank of England. It honors Sir Winston Churchill, the wartime Prime Minister, for his leadership during WWII. Unlike previous paper notes, this version was designed to be cleaner, stronger, and more difficult to counterfeit.
