Brief Description
The obverse features the bust of Abraham Lincoln facing right, designed by Victor David Brenner. The inscription 'IN GOD WE TRUST' is above his head, 'LIBERTY' is to the left, and the year '1994' is to the right. The coin has a reddish-brown metallic appearance.
Historical Significance
Released as part of the Lincoln Cent series which began in 1909 to commemorate the centennial of Lincoln's birth. The 1994 issue features the 'Memorial' reverse (designed by Frank Gasparro) which was used from 1959 to 2008.
