Brief Description

The reverse features the denomination '2 Fr.' and the year '1943' surrounded by a wreath of oak and alpine rose branches. The obverse (not fully visible) features Helvetia standing, holding a spear and shield with the Swiss cross.

Issued during World War II, Switzerland remained neutral but produced these silver coins which are part of a long-standing design series that was used from 1874 until 1967. The silver content was later replaced with copper-nickel in 1968 due to rising silver prices.
