Brief Description
The obverse features the profile head of Liberty wearing a radiate crown, with the word 'LIBERTY' above and the year below. The reverse (not visible) typically depicts a bald eagle perched on a rock inscribed with 'PEACE'.
Historical Significance
Designed by Anthony de Francisci to commemorate the end of World War I, it was the first US dollar to symbolise peace and was the last silver dollar struck for circulation in the United States.
