Brief Description
An equilateral curve heptagon (7-sided) silver-colored coin with the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing right and the inscription 'ELIZABETH II D.G. REG. F.D.'
Historical Significance
Introduced in 1982 to bridge the gap between the 10p and 50p coins. It features the 'Second Portrait' of the Queen by Arnold Machin. It was the first seven-sided coin introduced since the 50p in 1969.
